Switching to Safe Deodorant

When I saw my first functional medicine doctor, she talked to me about the hazards of all kinds of toxins I had never even heard of, let alone considered could be making me sick. After doing extensive reading, I switched all my daily products.  As I scanned each product with the Think Dirty App (free download), I realized my products were toxic like my doctor warned me, and I’d been buying a lot of them because I thought they were more natural. The toxic ingredients in my antiperspirant were just as harmful as all the other products I was putting on my skin and hair. So, I committed to switching to natural deodorant and ditching the antiperspirant.

Safer Solutions for Your Cookware

It never occurred to me, before becoming sick in 2016, that what I put on my skin could contribute to illness. It also never occurred to me that the healthy foods I was eating could be absorbing toxic ingredients from my cookware. Some of the same toxins found in my blood test are found in our everyday cookware, such as polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA), Perfluorinated chemicals (PFAS), Aluminum, Copper, Cadmium, Chromium, Nickel, and Lead. So I switched my cookware, and today I am delving deeper into the subject for you and me. Read on to learn more about the currently popular cookware types, what I recommend using, phasing out, and tossing out all together.
